Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Stafford’s wife Kelly underwent 12-hour brain surgery last month to remove a benign brain tumor and Tuesday she shared details on the operation. The mother of three thanked University of Michigan doctors for preserving her hearing after she temporarily lost it during the surgery, also explaining that the operating team preserved her ability to have a fully functioning face with patience during the long operation. QB Matt Stafford has not publicly commented on his wife’s health yet but did return to Phase 2 of the Detroit Lions’ offseason workout program during the last two weeks.
