WATCH: Kawhi Leonard wears gift from students in Los Angeles

Kawhi Leonard helped the Clippers beat the Trail Blazers 107-101 Thursday night and the shirt he wore postgame that caught as much attention as his team-leading 27-point performance did.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP wore a clearly hand-made t-shirt with “BE KIND ALWAYS,” largely written on it. The white shirt was also decorated with a hand-drawn Clippers (6-3) logo, basketball and basketball players and another supportive message, “Be kind and carry on.”

Leonard explained that the shirt was a gift from young students in Los Angeles, saying postgame, “Me and a group gave away backpacks to kids in the city of Los Angeles and Moreno Valley and one of the elementary schools basically made this for me as a thank you, so I just wore it in support.”

The move from the Toronto Raptors to LA during the free agency period put Leonard back in his hometown and the star is already clearly doing what he can to impact the community.
