WATCH. Justin Fields reaction to being picked by the Chicago Bears.

It was the main drama of the first round. Where would Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields go in the 2021 NFL draft? Was all the talk a smokescreen and the former Heisman finalist would be picked up in the top three, or would he fall down the board like many had predicted and reported.

Well, it fell somewhere in-between. Fields did indeed fall out of the top three quarterbacks, but then the Chicago Bears went all-in, pushed their chips to the middle of the table and traded up to select the former Buckeye signal-caller.

For Fields, it had to be gut-wrenching and painful to watch, not knowing exactly where your future was headed. The Bears were not thought to be a player in the whole Fields soap opera that unfolded leading up to the draft. But there they were, making a selection all of Bear nation is excited about.

Just recently, the Ohio State creative team shared some video of Justin Fields and his family behind the scenes as he awaited his fate on draft day. It’s pretty chill just like Fields, but there is clear excitement and an attitude of getting to work that comes through. Best of all, there is a message for Buckeye Nation at the end of it, thanking the fanbase, players, and coaches for what being a part of the program meant to him.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s fun to watch, just like a lot of the reaction phone calls that make the rounds. The fact that this one is of a first-round pick that will forever be some of Ohio State fans’ favorite player only makes it that more special.

Go get ’em Justin. We are all behind you and know what kind of worker, player, and person you are. The city of Chicago is tailor-made for a guy like you.
