The Chicago Bears kicked off rookie minicamp on Friday, where their new rookies took the practice field at Halas Hall for the first time. While there’s a ton of excitement surrounding the contributions that this rookie class could potentially make, the talk of camp has been one guy in particular — quarterback Justin Fields.
Fields garnered strong praise from media members in attendance, who praised his accuracy, calm demeanor, sharpness and said he looked “very good” in his first practice.
“His mechanics were really good,” Bears head coach Matt Nagy said after practice. “I thought he looked super calm. The ball did not touch the ground very much.”
Following the first practice of rookie minicamp, Fields, along with running back Khalil Herbert and cornerback Thomas Graham Jr., had a message for Bears fans.
