Watch Jota's Celtic vs Rangers strike named PFA Scotland goal of the season

This is the Jota strike against Rangers that has been named PFA Scotland goal of the season.

The Portuguese winger's dinked finish over Jon McLaughlin back in September was crowned the best goal at the awards night on Sunday.

Jota's finish was the third goal in a 4-0 win over Rangers earlier this season.

The winger latched onto a superb through ball from Matt O'Riley before lofting over the onrushing McLaughlin and celebrating in front of the Celtic support.

"It was a good moment," the player told Sky Sports who sponsor the award. "Shout out to Matt O'Riley for the help because it was an amazing pass.

"This one was special. Every goal is amazing. The next one will always be the most important. But this one in a big game, definitely one to keep on the books to remember."

Speaking to Celtic TV about the goal, Jota said: "You can definitely take me back because it was an amazing day for me and for all of the Celtic family.

"It was a great moment and I am just happy to be involved in that. I think this says a lot about what Celtic is.

"And I wouldn't be able to do it if my team-mates weren't there to support me; so a big thanks for them."

And asked about the "iconic" celebrations to match the goal, he added: "That's not something up to me, I just stick to my thing on the pitch and then I let history make history itself.

"As long as I can develop inside the group and be a better football player for everyone to help this club to achieve bigger things, I will be happy with that."
