WATCH: Jordan Spieth reiterates his slump ended ahead of PGA Championship

Jordan Spieth knew his slump would end this weekend. The 25-year-old hasn’t finished in the top 20 this year and hasn’t won since the 2017 British Open, but he felt confident entering the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.

A pre-PGA Championship question started “As you’re in this bit of a slump,” but Spieth cut the reporter off: “Was.” Now, through two rounds at Bethpage Black, Spieth’s golf proves he is right. Thursday, Spieth finished with a 1-under par 69, then bettered that with a 4-under 66 finish on Friday. The second round was good enough to put him in second place on the leaderboard halfway through the only major he’s never won.
