John Wolford isn’t going to make the Rams’ 53-man roster, but he’s making a strong case for the practice squad. He took over for Brandon Allen on the second drive of the game Thursday night and immediately looked like the better quarterback.
He went 5-for-6 with 61 yards and this touchdown to cap off the possession, marching the Rams 62 yards down the field to tie the game at seven.
Wolford hit Kendall Blanton for the score on a bootleg to the right – a perfect throw to the end zone.
Wolford has looked like the Rams’ best quarterback this preseason, though he’s played significantly more than Blake Bortles. Again, he’s almost certainly not going to make the team, but he’s a great candidate for the practice squad.
The Rams just have to hope no one claims him off waivers.
