Watch John Phillips score third quickest KO in UFC middleweight history with wild UFC on ESPN+ 18 swarm

Gameplan? What’s a gameplan?

If they had a strategy entering their UFC on ESPN+ 18 collision, John Phillips (22-9 MMA, 1-3 UFC) and Alen Amedovski (8-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) threw it out the window Saturday night at UFC on ESPN+ 18, which took place at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark and streamed on ESPN+.

With a combined UFC record of 0-4 entering the bout, both men were in dire need of their first UFC victory. In the final prelim of the event, the two middleweight fighters bit down on their mouthpieces and chucked bombs.

Phillips was the first – and final – fighter to land a big shot. When the first left hand connected, Amedovski stumbled. When the second one landed, Amedovski went down. The third and fourth lefts were all she wrote.

Just 14 seconds into the opening round, Phillips bagged his first win in the promotion. The knockout was the third fastest in the UFC middleweight division’s history.

Check out John Phillips’ speedy, but brutal knockout of Alen Amedovski in the video clip below:
