He's currently touring the country playing an entertainment rep in 80s musical Club Tropicana but on Saturday night viewers will see Joe McElderry in a very different role when he takes on Ninja Warrior UK.
South Shields star Joe is one of a number of celebrities appearing on the new series of the hit ITV show.
Joe's episode was actually filmed at the end of last year before he hit the road with Club Tropicana, which arrives for a North East run at Sunderland Empire from May 20.
And ahead of Ninja Warrior UK airing this weekend we've got a sneak preview of him in action. And as you can see from the video above - he gives it a good go!
Talking about his appearance on the show, Joe told Chronicle Live "I was asked by ITV if I wanted to go on and I thought why not?
"People who know me know I'm really into fitness and everything but I didn't expect it to be quite as hard as it was.
"I go to the gym three or four times a week but there were people there who were absolute machines! They train specifically to be on Ninja Warrior.
"I thought we'd get a few practice runs before filming started but we were literally shown the course and our first go on it was when we were filmed.
"I'm so glad I did though; it was great fun as one to tick off the bucket list to say I've been a part of."
