Watch Jimmy Kimmel compare Dennis Hastert, Jared Fogle in rant

April 28--Jimmy Kimmel slammed former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert Wednesday on his ABC talk show and compared him to Jared Fogle, the disgraced Subway pitchman.

"Jared from Subway right now is going, why the hell didn't I run for Speaker of the House?" Kimmel said. Fogle pleaded guilty last year to sex acts with minors and distribution of child pornography and was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison.

In a Chicago courtroom Wednesday, Hastert acknowledged he sexually abused several boys he coached on the Yorkville High School wrestling team in the 1960s and 1970s. U.S. District Judge Thomas M. Durkin sentenced him to 15 months in prison for paying $1.7 million in hush money to cover up the abuse.

"Fifteen months. We've got some good people running things in this country," Kimmel said.

Kimmel pointed out that Hastert supported impeaching former President Bill Clinton for trying to cover up his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

"I think there should be a rule that any time a politician pontificates about someone else's private life, a squad of investigators is immediately sent to his house to investigate what he is up to," Kimmel said.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs 10:35 p.m. weeknights.
