WATCH: Jayson Tatum East Player of the Week highlights (Jan. 4-10)

For the second time in his career, Boston Celtics All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum has won East Player of the Week honors, becoming the first Celtic to win the honor in consecutive seasons since Isaiah Thomas.

The St. Louis native did it with a week’s play that saw him put up an average of 33 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52.2% from the field, an absurd 52% from beyond the arc, and a nearly as absurd perfect record from the free throw line despite averaging 5.3 attempts from the stripe per game. The Celtics went undefeated over that week with Tatum helping Boston defeat the Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat and Washington Wizards — the latter team with just nine available players.

While he has been misfortunate enough to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 immediately after the tilt with the Wizards, he is reportedly asymptomatic and quarantining while he recovers.

Since we won’t get any basketball from the Duke product while he’s out recuperating from the viral malady behind the pandemic, watch the video compilation from the week in question put together by Tomasz Kordylewski instead.
