While there weren’t too many positive things to talk about in Sunday’s 105 – 75 matinee blowout of the Boston Celtics by the New York Knicks besides the return of All-Star point guard Kemba Walker for his season debut, as per usual Jaylen Brown was one of them.
The Georgia native was a rock of stability while his teammates seemed rusty or on cruise control — evidently not quite awake enough to give it their full effort at 1pm in the afternoon. But Brown did his best to make up for it, scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in 33 minutes of playing time.
He did it efficiently as well on a night the team shot just 29.8% from the floor, going 9-for-20 overall and 4-of-5 from the line.
There was plenty about this game worth forgetting, but the Cal-Berkeley product’s performance is worth another look — watch the video embedded above to see it.
