Panthers fans who aren’t sure about South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn should remember that you’re allowed to hate the pick and like the prospect at the same time. Our two cents is that the team’s No. 8 overall selection would have been better spent on Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. It’s also possible that Horn would have still been available after a trade down, but that’s no reason not to love what he brings to the table.
On the bright side, Horn is a physical press corner who should help transform what’s been a soft backend of Carolina’s defense into a tougher, more competitive unit. It’s also refreshing to see this franchise finally making a real investment at DB both in free agency and the draft.
In any case, getting picked alone is a tremendous achievement for any athlete that’s worth celebrating. Watch Horn get the call from the Panthers.
