WATCH: Jaxson Hayes throws down huge poster slam in Summer League

A mixture of waiting on the Lakers-Pelicans-Hawks-Wizards trade madness to be consummated led to Jaxson Hayes’ Summer League debut to be postponed. Hayes finally found the floor on Monday against the Chicago Bulls.

Boy did he make an instant impact.

Midway through the second quarter, Hayes took a pocket pass after a screen and roll on the wing, elevated and detonated all over a poor soul on the Bulls.

The poor soul who was dunked on was Mychal Mulder, a rookie guard out of Kentucky. He will be remembered fondly after Hayes ended his basketball career.

Hayes and fellow rookie Nickeil Walker-Alexander, who is also making his first start after Summer League, both impressed in the first half against New Orleans. Hayes tallied 15 points and three rebounds in 12 minutes of action. Walker-Alexander matched him with 15 points as well with four rebounds, two blocks and two steals. The two each went a nice 6-of-9 from the field.
