The Rams haven’t put on the pads yet in practice, but that’ll change on Tuesday. This week will start the first of 14 padded practices allowed by the NFL before the season begins, so the Rams will have to make them count.
In advance of padded practices, Jared Goff was out throwing passes to his receivers in workouts Monday. The Rams shared a video clip of him hitting Darrell Henderson on a wheel route deep down the sideline, dropping the pass perfectly in the bucket about 30 yards downfield.
There wasn’t a defender covering Henderson, but the ball was thrown in a great spot for Henderson to catch it over his shoulder.
Henderson will be competing for snaps at running back this summer with Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown being his competition in the backfield. Anything he can contribute in the passing game will boost his stock and earn him more playing time as a change-of-pace weapon.
He looked comfortable catching the ball here, just as he did often at Memphis in college.
