WATCH: Jalen Hurts is officially the starting QB at Oklahoma

Jalen Hurts is officially the starting quarterback at Oklahoma, the Sooners announced Monday.

Hurts made the move to Norman, Ok. in January, taking the experience from three National Championship games with him. As Alabama’s starter for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Hurts helped the Crimson Tide to a 26-2 record and the 2017 national title. Tua Tagovailoa won Alabama’s starting job last season but Hurts still played in 13 games — including replacing Tagovailoa after an injury in the SEC Championship to lead Alabama back to the National Championship.

Hurts beat out redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai and true freshman Spencer Rattler for Oklahoma’s QB-1 spot. Hurts scored 10 touchdowns last season (eight through the air, two on his feet) and passed for 765 yards.
