New England Patriots rookie receiver Jakobi Meyers has made a habit of getting open — very open — during training camp and preseason. Maybe he doesn’t run the fastest 40-yard dash, a large reason why the NC State product went undrafted. But he doesn’t lack foot speed.
During the Patriots’ preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night, Meyers ran a route that put a Titans cornerback on his butt. Meyers was lined up in the slot, and broke open — while sending his mark flying on the change of direction — and caught Jarrett Stidham’s pass for 14 yards and a first down on third-and-7.

Meyers has wowed since the first week of training camp when he quickly began working with the first team offense. In the first week of preseason, he had six catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
