Watch: Jahlani Tavai’s first career sack

It hasn’t taken long for Detroit Lions rookies to make an impact in their first NFL career game. First-round pick T.J Hockenson’s first catch went for 28-yards, and now second-round pick linebacker Jahlani Tavai recorded his first career sack in the NFL.

Tavai, who is starting at MIKE in place of injured Jarrad Davis, stunts behind Christian Jones in a double linebacker blitz and attacks the front-side A-gap. The pressure causes quarterback Kyler Murray to flee the pocket, but Tavai was relentless in his pursuit and tracked him down for the sack.
