Watch Irish students recreate iconic opening scene of 'Friends' for upcoming UCC Students' Union election

A group of University College Cork students have released a rather familiar promotional video for the upcoming students' union elections.

Final year commerce student, Emma Bergin, is running for the role of president and took some inspiration from the hit show 'Friends' for her campaign video.

Emma, along with fellow students Molly, Elaine, Muireann, Colm and David recreated the iconic opening scene in 'Friends' using one of Corks most famous landmarks, the Berwick fountain.

In the video the group play and dance around a sofa by the fountain while the ever familiar Rembrandts song, "I'll be there for you", plays in the background.

Colm Foley, a close friend of Emma's, told the Irish Mirror: "Emma’s running for the position of President with voting taking place on March 9th, 10th and 11th of March.

"Emma’s really passionate about integrating UCC into the community of Cork which is why it’s so fitting that the video incorporates one of Cork’s most iconic spots."

The students certainly seemed to enjoy the filming of the iconic scene and we wish them the best of luck with the elections in the coming weeks.
