Watch the moment a young Irish man popped the question to his girlfriend in a lovely and romantic Christmas Day proposal.
Monaghan man Shane McKenna said he prepared a poem "in about 15 minutes" three weeks ago when he planned to surprise girlfriend Mary Dooley on December 25.
The 26-year-old's relatives filmed the lovely moment on Christmas morning as an emotional Shane expressed his feelings to a shaking Mary.
After he read out the lovely words, he got down on one knee and asked his partner if she wanted to be with him "forever".
Luckily, after being a bit stuck for words, Mary of course said yes to the delight of everyone in the room.
Huge congratulations to the happy couple.
