Watch incoming Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou bid emotional goodbye to Yokohama Marinos as Parkhead move looms

Ange Postecoglou waved an emotional goodbye to the Yokohama F. Marinos fans as he prepares to embark on his new journey at Celtic.

The Greece-born Australian went over to his supporters following a shock Emperor's Cup exit at the hands of Japanese fourth tier side Honda.

It was hardly the ideal preparation for the 55-year-old given he has a job in winning over many sceptical Celtic supporters.

However, the J-League side’s fans didn’t hold the humiliating defeat against him as they applauded him for his efforts during three years at the helm, which included delivering the club’s first title in 15 years.

Postecoglou will now prepare to fly to Scotland where he will be forced to quarantine before getting to work on a major summer rebuild as Celtic look to close last season’s 25-point gap on Rangers.

Yokohama F. Marinos lost on penalties against Honda but the video footage shows a fond farewell for the former Australia manager.
