Emergency services raced to East Kilbride last night after concerns were raised over an individual.

A large number of police officers and paramedics descended on an underpass close to The Murray roundabout in the town.

Police say they were called to assist another emergency service following an incident. Following that, an arrest was made.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : "Around 8.25pm on Wednesday, officers were called to assist another agency near The Murray roundabout, East Kilbride.

"An 18 year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with breach of the peace.

" A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

Video footage of the incident shows a large number of emergency service vehicles on the busy roadside, with ambulances seen down towards the underpass.
