Watch: How Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals in WPL final to win maiden title

NEW DELHI: Women rose to the occasion to end the trophy drought for Royal Challengers Bangalore with an eight-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League final on Sunday.

Delhi surrendered the fight at their home ground after their 64-run opening partnership was broken.

The official handle of the Women's Premier League shared a video with a quick round-up of the summit clash:

Delhi Capitals finished runners-up for the second year in a row.

Playing despite a hairline fracture in her left hand, Shreyanka Patil took 4/12 as DC were dismissed for 113.

RCB (115/2) chased down the target with 3 balls to spare as superstar all-rounder Ellyse Perry hit an unbeaten 35.

RCB's Sophie Molineux, who reduced DC from 64/0 to 64/3 in one over, was declared player of the match.

Deepti Sharma of UP Warriorz was declared the player of the tournament.
