Watch how McDonald's fans recreate cheese bites using Babybels during coronavirus lockdown

With McDonald's 1,350 UK restaurants still closed, fans of the fast food giant have been coming up with DIY imitations of menu favourites.

Among the coronavirus lockdown success stories have been their signature fries in cleverly constructed McDonald's packaging and even Big Macs.

And now, people are taking up the mantle by sharing how to make homemade cheese bites using Babybels - are you hungry yet?

Two foodie fans, Rees Edwards-Caulier and his girlfriend Kirsty Simpson went viral on TikTok after posting a tutorial for the cheese bites, reports Wales Online.

Thankfully, you won't need a huge list of ingredients to make this treat, just Babybels which are then dipped in flour, egg and finally in a generous coating of breadcrumbs.

The Babybels are then deep fried until golden - and the end result is on par with the real thing.
