Lockdown has been extremely challenging for youngsters who cannot see their closest friends and can barely understand why.
But one Bedminster girl, aged four, came up with an ingenious way of staying connected to her loved ones while also bringing a smile to their faces.
Little Greta Lewis-Jones decided to reinstate the bucket challenge fad and raise money for a mental health charity during the coronavirus crisis.
A short video clip captured the moment the brave youngster had freezing water thrown over her head.
"It's really strange right now," she told her Facebook viewers.
"I really love the people I miss but we're doing this because it's really good and we're making this to make people happy."
Dad Richard said he was 'extremely proud' of his daughter.
"Like so many children across the world at the moment, Greta’s really missing her friends and as parents we’ve noticed how big an impact that lack of human connection is having on her mental health.
"Her moods have been up and down, it's been a big roller-coaster for her. Most adults are OK with not seeing their friends as much but it's very hard for kids to understand.
"As tough as it is for Greta, desperate times call for courageous measures and she wanted to do something to put a smile on the faces of those she's missing."
The 36-year-old added: "She invented her own challenge called #BucketsAndBesties where she tells her friends she’s missing them and why it’s okay to feel the way she does, before taking a huge bucket of water on her head.
"She wanted to raise money for a good cause, make people smile and like the ALS Challenge a few years ago, raise awareness of just how tough the coronavirus lockdown is on children and young people right now."
Greta has already raised £422, which will be donated to Young Minds Trust.

Although Greta's nursery has reopened, her parents have decided not to send her back yet.
She is also due to start Cathedral Primary School this September.
"It is really strange for her because she's not been able to say a proper goodbye to her friends," said Richard.
"She's really excited about starting school and making new friends so hopefully things will have gone back to normal by then."
