Watch hilarious Trainspotting parody that shows Edinburgh in 2022

A hilarious spoof of the 1996 film Trainspotting has been posted to social media site TikTok.

The parody, of the Edinburgh-based Irvine Welsh film, shows a 2022 view of the city, with side-splitting results.

The video was uploaded to advertise a new clubbing space in the capital, launching next Saturday.

The team behind Central EH1 filmed the hysterical tribute to the popular Scottish film, with the iconic 'Choose Life' opening scene a focal point.

In the TikTok video, the 'Choose Life' opening monologue is used, but has been swapped around to include memorable moments from a rave in the capital, rather than the daily life of an addict in the film.

The video also includes other iconic moments from the film, including the chase through the city centre, and being hit by the car coming out of the hidden entrance way - the trick is that the makers behind Central have included their branding throughout.

The stars of the video and the clubbing space have donned iconic retro football strips: including Heart of Midlothian's 1993-94 away kit in iconic blue and black vertical stripes, and Hibernian's 1989-91 away kit with the old badge still on it.

The other two kits were also retro, but from the west coast and east end of Glasgow - one being a 1996 home jersey for the Glasgow Celtic, and a luminous 1996-97 away kit for the same team.

The video starts with the two runaways holding up placards promoting the new club, and the logo branded onto the pavement of Princes Street.

The monologue opens with "Choose music, choose a rave, choose house, choose the fear, overdrafts and Rennies.

"Choose your mates, choose a f***ing big soundsystem", comes next, with the renowned car crash scene, where it then moves into the four guys playing football in a small 4G pitch in the capital.

The Central EH1 Facebook page describes the new space opening as a "main 500 capacity indoor club room, with a viber low ceiling and panoramic views of the capital" as their main space.

The club space also has a room called 'The Terrace', which "offers a different heated, sheltered area with music from up and coming DJs".

The TikTok video has been watched over a thousand times, with comments reading "this is unreal!" and "wow, pretty cool!"
