Watch hilarious moment Steven Thompson is drowned out by rowdy kids as BBC pundit rendered speechless

They say never work with children or animals and that's a lesson BBC pundit Steven Thompson has well and truly learned.

The former Rangers striker was drowned out by a rather excited group of children as he covered a Championship game.

Thompson was attempting to analyse Dundee United's first half away at Alloa, but soon found himself being drowned out by the noise from the stands.

Covering the game on BBC Scotland he said: "United need an injection of something in this game.

"The last time I watched them was the cup game when Louis Appere came on and he had such an impact."

At this point the teams came out of the tunnel for the second half, to plenty of shouting and screaming from some young fans in the stand.

Thompson looked distinctly unimpressed as host Leanne Crichton was forced to throw to a highlights package.

On commentary the kids were referred to by Liam McLeod as the "Steven Thompson fan club" and the moment sparked a host of Twitter comments asking if the pair were "broadcasting from a creche".
