The Jacksonville Jaguars used their 2019 first-round pick to bring in some more talent on the defensive side with the selection of Kentucky pass rusher Josh Allen Thursday night. It goes without saying the team already had one of the most feared pass rushes in football, and after adding an All-SEC standout who accumulated a career total of 31.5 sacks, opposing quarterbacks just might have a hard time staying upright.
He’ll now join a Sacksonville unit that already has two Pro Bowlers in Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue chasing the quarterback, while bringing more elite size, weight and speed to the table. He also has the ability to help Myles Jack and company on the back end in coverage as he’s a fluid athlete, too. Simply put, if he plays to his potential, this is a huge pickup for the Jags as he was one of the draft’s top-3 players.
