The Jacksonville Jaguars made their first signing (in principle) of the 2020 tampering period in linebacker Joe Schobert. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Schobert agreed to terms on a five year-deal worth $53.75 million with $22.5 million being guaranteed.
The Jags’ new addition is a huge one because it helps the Jags’ linebacking corps tremendously. With 49 starts to his name and a Pro Bowl nod (2017), Schobert will allow the Jags to move Myles Jack to outside linebacker where he’s better suited to flourish.
Many have praise Schobert’s instincts in coverage, which is an area the Jags desperately need help at. Schobert has also proven to be a good tackler, accumulating at least 103 tackles in his last three seasons.
