Watch highlights of new Eagles WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside

The Philadelphia Eagles have some matchup problems on the offensive side of the ball, but during the 2018 season, one thing Carson Wentz and company were missing, is a stone-cold killer in the red zone, a guy capable of “Mossing” an opposing defender at a moments notice. Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, and DeSean Jackson are solid weapons, but Carson Wentz hasn’t had a guy he could line up outside on the three-yard line, and similar to how Rob Gronkowski or Travis Kelce does business, can win any one-on-one matchup.

JJ Arcega-Whiteside fell to the second round of the NFL Draft because teams were focused on adding edge rushers, but one thing the former Stanford star can do is win matchups in the red zone. Last season at Stanford, 14 of Whiteside’s 63 catches went for touchdowns, and he averaged 16.8 yards per catch.

At 6’2″, 225 pounds, Arcega ran 4.45 at his pro day and although he won’t be a day-one starter, Doug Pederson and Mike Groh will be able to put together a nice red zone package for Arcega-Whiteside, especially when matched up with smaller corners or safeties.

Take a look at his highlights from the 2018 season:
