The Lions used their first-round pick on tight end T.J. Hockenson, and now have used a seventh-rounder on Georgia TE Isaac Nauta. A great value this late for a guy that was projected to go in the fifth round and has starter potential, according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.
Nauta isn’t an elite athlete, however, he’s a pretty solid all-around player. He was my suggestion for our tight ends to watch at the combine piece. Nauta is the perfect depth pick that has upside if he’s forced into action.
