Watch: highlights of Lions’ fourth-round pick Clemson EDGE Austin Bryant

After trading back with the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round, the Detroit Lions selected Clemson EDGE Austin Bryant with pick No. 117 of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Lions have finally added someone that can get after the quarterback as Bryant finished the 2018 season with 44 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, with eight sacks. He played mostly defensive end in college but Bryant’s lengthy, athletic frame should allow him to play the JACK linebacker spot in Detroit’s defense.

So let’s go to the tape and get a closer look at what the Lions are getting with their fourth-round selection.

Bryant vs. Notre Dame

Bryant vs. Boston College

Bryant vs. Duke

Bryant vs. Alabama

Clemson has been rivaling Alabama in recent years with the number of players they continue to pump into the draft. Bryant could easily get lost in the shuffle since three other Clemson defensive linemen went in the first round already.

Bryant can learn behind Devon Kennard and Matt Patricia won’t have to rush him along. This looks like a solid pick by Bob Quinn that also fills a need.
