WATCH: Highlights of Jags new TE Josh Oliver

With the No. 69 overall pick the Jacksonville Jaguars addressed another pressing need with the selection of San Jose State’s Josh Oliver. Many figured the Jags would take a tight end early in this week’s draft due to it being an important factor in the offense and Nick Foles’ game, and that’s exactly what they did in landing the 6-foot-5, 249-pound, target from California.

Oliver came on strong during his senior season producing over 700 receiving yards and four touchdowns and proved he can work all areas of the field. That landed him on the All-Mountain West team as a first-teamer and also got him an invite to the Senior Bowl.

On film, Oliver flourished in using his size to get separation on smaller opponents. Despite their struggles to acquire wins, San Jose State’s staff found a way to frequently get him open (as John DeFilippo will) and he didn’t disappoint in most cases.
