The 2019 season was one Jacksonville Jaguars fans would rather forget as the team once again fell short of expectations winning just six games. However, if there was one part of the season that was enjoyable it was watching Gardner Minshew II play.
The 25-year-old, who is celebrating his birthday today, wasn’t expected to see the field in 2019 but was thrust into the lineup Week 1 when veteran Nick Foles went down with a broken collarbone against the Kansas City Chiefs. From there, 2019 became a rather interesting season for Minshew as he led the Jags to all six of their wins while completing 60.6 percent of his passes for 3,271 yards through the air, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Of course, Minshew’s performance didn’t go unnoticed by the Jags’ staff as they went through the offseason putting tools around him to get another shot in 2020. Those names included tight end Tyler Eifert and receivers Laviska Shenault Jr., and Collin Johnson as well as a revamped defense.
With the Jags’ fanbase going through a lot over the years, it would be nothing short of fantastic if they struck gold with the former sixth-rounder. With a new coordinator in Jay Gruden by his side, that just may be a possibility as it’s clear that Minshew has some intriguing talent.
