Watch: Hardik Pandya's 'go easy' plea to security amid fans' breach earns roaring applause

NEW DELHI: In a heartwarming gesture, star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was on Friday seen urging the security personnel to go easy on pitch-invading fans during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy semi-final clash in Bengaluru.

During their knockout clash against Mumbai, the Chinnaswamy Stadium had a security breach after three fans entered the ground to have a selfie with the all-rounder.

However, the stadium security was quick to react as they grabbed the fans and swiftly took them out of the playing area.

As the security staff pushed the fans out, it seemed that the intruders were set to face strict consequences but Hardik came close to the boundary ropes and urged the officials to go easy on them.

Seeing the gesture from Hardik, the crowd at the Chinnaswamy erupted in a roar followed by an applause.

On the match front, Hardik's Baroda was blown away by Mumbai by six wickets after a sizzling 56-ball 98 from veteran Ajinkya Rahane.

In the chase of 159, Rahane took the Baroda bowlers to the cleaners as Mumbai stormed into the final with 16 balls to spare.

In the semi-final Hardik managed just 5 runs with the bat and took a solitary wicket.
