WATCH: Hamilton fans confront Brian Rice outside stadium after Rangers thrashing

Hamilton Accies fans have confronted manager Brian Rice this evening outside New Douglas Park to seek an explanation for their 8-0 thrashing to Rangers at Ibrox.

Fans gave their team stick as the team bus arrived back from Ibrox, but Rice later came out to front up to supporters.

The Accies gaffer addressed between 20-30 fans outside their home ground for around 40 minutes, as they dissected the club's record defeat in the SPFL era.

The Accies boss last month told fans to come and see him if they wanted to ask about results instead of being 'keyboard warriors' - and fans did just that this evening.

Lanarkshire Live Sport has obtained footage of the meeting and Rice can be heard saying "he appreciates" the fans coming down.

He can also be heard saying: "It isn't good enough, 100 per cent."

Fans have praised Rice for fronting up, however, and one supporter who was part of the group, told us: "It went quite well.

"When the bus came in and players came off, they got their rightful abuse and stick."When that calmed down a bit, we asked Greg Hall [Accies' safety officer] if the manager could come out.

"We were told it could happen as long as no abuse, so a frank discussion was had for about 40 minutes or so.

"The manager didn't really know any answers and appears well out his depth but fair play to him for coming out.

"He pretty much discussed and talked things over with the fans and listened to what everyone had to say. Fair play to him coming out though.

"He agreed mentality and lack of fight and desire has to be reinstalled.

"People used to be scared of coming to Accies, but now they can’t wait to come.

"He apologised several times for everything and on behalf of all the players."
