Watch Gronk, Patriots throw out first pitch for Red Sox home opener

Boston’s champions celebrated Boston’s other champions. The defending World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox, hosted the defending Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots, for the home opener at Fenway Park on Tuesday.

The Patriots took the field with Lombardi Trophies to the roar of the crowd at Fenway Park. While Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Robert Kraft were not in attendance, stars like Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Stephon Gilmore were present.

Here’s a look at that moment.

Once the Patriots had taken the field and soaked up the applause, three players — Gronk, Edelman and Gilmore — took the mound for the opening pitch. Gilmore threw strike. The other two missed the mark slightly.
