Michigan State football lost in a remarkably heartbreaking fashion on Saturday at Rutgers.
The Spartans dominated the Scarlet Knights for the first three quarters in building a 24-6 lead going into the final quarter. However, that lead slipped away in a four-minute span that included costly mistake after costly mistake as Rutgers stormed back for the 27-24 win.
The loss to Rutgers was just another blow in an already brutally tough season for the Spartans, who have now lost four straight games. Michigan State is 2-4 overall and would need a dramatic turn of events to reach the postseason.
