Watch Government's coronavirus update as UK shoppers are told to be responsible

The Government urged shoppers to "be responsible" in its latest coronavirus update as pressure mounts on the NHS.

The call came from Environment Secretary George Eustice, who chaired Saturday's daily briefing from Downing Street.

It came after concerns were raised across the country about people, including NHS staff, arriving at supermarkets and finding shelves empty.

The Prime Minister had also been facing calls to make sure frontline health workers are properly equipped, including from former Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

It comes a day after he ordered that all pubs, restaurants, gyms and other public spaces were to close on Friday night for an indefinite period.

And Chancellor Rishi Sunak also announced measures to support employees unable to work - guaranteeing grants to businesses covering 80% of a workers' wages.
