The government has released a new TV advert amid the coronavirus pandemic
Professor Chris Whitty, the government's Chief Medical Adviser, advices people on they should respond to the virus.
The advert will be shown on TVs from Thursday March 19, and will help to explain the new guidance for those self-isolating at home.
The guidance sets out that individuals will still be asked to self-isolate for seven days from the start of symptoms, however mild.
Any individuals in the same household as someone with symptoms will now be asked to self-isolate for 14 days from that moment as well.
The new advert will join a string of radio, TV, billboard and online campaigns to urge people to wash their hands regularly for at least 20 seconds.
People are also advised to seek help online by visiting NHS.uk/coronavirus to check symptoms.
Professor Whitty also urged people to avoid going to the GP or hospital, saying: "It's important we all protect older people, and those with existing health conditions from coronavirus.
"If you, or anyone in your household has a high temperature, or a new continuous cough, even if those symptoms are mild, you should all stay at home.
"Don't go to the GP or hospital, instead go to NHS.uk to check your symptoms and follow the specialist medical advice.
"Only call NHS 111 if you can't get online, or your symptoms worsen."
The advert ends with Mark Strong saying: "Protect yourself. Protect others. Protect the NHS."
