WATCH: GMA teases 'Voltes V' live action adaptation

MANILA, Philippines – GMA released on New Year's Eve, December 31 the first teaser trailer of the upcoming live action Voltes V: Legacy, an adaptation of the original series.

The teaser gives a glimpse of a familiar base – Camp Big Falcon and the figure of the Boazanian prince Zardos.

INVASION. Prince Zardos gets ready to invade earth.

The teaser also showed the robot as it gets ready for battle.

READY. The Volt Cruiser is ready to fight the Boazanian empire.

A release date and other details have yet to be announced. Mark Reyes, who has directed Encantadia, Beautiful Justice, and Mystified is one of the heads of the project. Reyes has previously teased the project, which he has been working on for the last 5 years.

Voltes V: Legacy is based from the Chōdenji Machine Voltes V series, a Japanese anime that aired in parts of the world in the 70s.  The show gained success in the Philippines and has been aired several times both in English and Filipino. – Rappler.com
