Watch Glasgow city centre Sainbury's staff recreate Amarillo video for charity

Staff at Sainsbury's stores in Glasgow city centre have joined forces to create a hilarious video to lighten the mood amid the coronavirus crisis and raise money for charity.

Key workers at the supermarket chain's stores on Gordon Street, Trongate, Buchanan Galleries, KIllermont St (Buchanan Bus Station) and George Street appear in the video.

The video is a recreation of Peter Kay's iconic video for 'Amarillo', and was done for BBC's Big Night In - a one-off remote fundraiser to help raise funds to fight coronavirus.

And it shows staff dancing within some of the above stores as well as outside a deserted Glasgow Central station and on Buchanan Street.

Staff member Laura McBain posted the video on Twitter alongside with caption: "Some of our fabulous key workers at Glasgow city centre having a #BigNightIn".

Speaking to Glasgow Live about the video, Laura said: "Sainsbury's have been partners with Comic Relief for many years.

"We created the video as we wanted to lighten the mood and have a bit of fun whilst trying to raise money for the Big Night In on BBC tonight".

The Big Night In with Children In Need airs on BBC tonight from 7pm.
