WATCH: Giants’ Cody Latimer aides Ohio tornado victims

When we hear about an NFL player missing OTAs, more often than not there’s a negative story attached. But in Cody Latimer’s case, it’s quite the opposite.

The New York Giants wide receiver got permission from the team this week to leave OTAs and fly to Ohio, where he is now helping out victims of the 17 tornadoes that tore through the state this week.

Per the Dayton Daily News, Latimer has donated food and supplies and has helped storm victims find shelter. The reports say he’s placed a priority on helping single moms affected by the tornadoes, as he was raised by a single mother himself.

The Dayton area has seen 13 tornado touchdowns this week, according to the National Weather Service, and is expected to see more in the coming days.
