If there’s one guy on the football field you probably shouldn’t pick a fight with, it’s Aaron Donald. But, that’s exactly what Giants center Nick Gates did in the second half of Sunday’s game at SoFi Stadium.
After an 11-yard gain by Evan Engram, Donald and Gates got into it following the whistle. The replay showed Gates and Donald jawing at each other, with Gates putting his hand on Donald’s facemask.
Donald retaliated by knocking the center’s hand away, and things escalated from there. Both players were called for unnecessary roughness penalties, which offset.

Probably not the best idea to pick a fight with an all-world pass rusher, who you’ll have to block for the remainder of the game.
