WATCH: Get to know new Boston Celtic Jabari Parker – his 2019-20 NBA highlights

While he has seen his career take massive steps backwards after two major knee injuries, the Boston Celtics are rolling the dice on former No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker in the hopes that the Duke product might be able to resuscitate his career with the team.

It wouldn’t be the first such resurrection under head coach Brad Stevens, who has helped stalled careers regain their spark in players like forward Evan Turner, another top pick who managed to turn his fortunes around after landing with the Celtics. With career lines of 14.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest to his name, the Chicago native would be a help to this team’s thin bench with only a fraction of that production coming back.

Signed to a two-year deal that keeps Boston out of the tax this season with some potential for bargain depth built-in, Parker has a shot at finding his way with the Celtics if only his body and resolve rise to the occasion.

For Boston, it’s a low-risk move that could pay off big in a way that helps balance the roster better; watch the clip embedded above provided by Tomasz Kordylewski to see how he might fit into the team’s style of play.
