Watch: Georgia stops Florida on 4th and inches during game’s opening drive

The game’s opening drive ended a bit earlier than anybody expected for Florida after the Gators failed to convert on 4th and inches from the Georgia 40 yard line.

Florida pushed the ball down the field with a series of a short passes and a nice run. The Gators faced a 3rd and 1, but Georgia’s defensive line forced a false start. On what was then 3rd and 6, Florida threw a screen pass that was originally called a first down.

After reviewing it, the refs pushed it back to 4th and inches from the Georgia 40.

Then, for some reason, Florida called this play.

Georgia went on to run a 16 play drive that featured a few third and long conversions. The drive eventually stalled and Georgia kicked a field goal to put the Dawgs up 3-0.
