Watch: Georgia football is back (kind of)

Today (Monday, June 8) marks the first day that Georgia football players start  their voluntary workouts in Athens.

These are not the same as regular football practice.

  • All Georgia players have been tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of these voluntary workouts.
  • To ensure player safety, the team has been split up into groups of 20 and then divided into workout groups of seven
  • Smart and his assistant coaches are not allowed to oversee these workouts
  • Strength coach Scott Sinclair will oversee the workouts
  • Smart and his staff are allowed, however, to hold eight hours of virtual meetings with the players per week

The Georgia football Twitter account released a video celebrating the return of football to Athens.

Enjoy.
