Former Georgia basketball great Yante Maten signed a G-League contract with the Miami Heat last season but has quickly climbed up the depth charts.
In the midst of the 2018-19 season, Maten agreed to a full-time deal with the Heat, getting promoted to the big club at the end of the year.
The Grand Rapids, Michigan native put up 23.5 points per game in the G-League for Sioux Falls last season and continued to build on that success in the NBA Summer League Tuesday night with 16 more points.
Time will tell if the former Bulldog can make a name for himself with the Heat and potentially gain significant minutes in the near future, but the G-League star is quickly trending upward in his basketball career.
