There'll be no rest at Rangers this summer as the quest to hunt down Celtic enters a crucial phase.
Steven Gerrard has no doubt improved the Ibrox side but the barometer of success in Govan measures only silverware.
In that regard Rangers have come up short but Gary McAllister , filling in for Gerrard on media duty, is optimistic about what's to come.
The club face a sharp turnaround with Europa League qualifiers arriving early in July and the plan is to have new faces well bedded in by then.
As exclusively revealed by Record Sport on Friday, Max Lowe is on Rangers radar and McAllister was on hand to respond to questions over the left-back and the club's wider plans for the transfer window.
He's well aware of the need for swift business and that's exactly what he reckons will be done.
McAllister said: "We coped well in Europe last year, the job last year had to bring together a lot of new players.
"We are aware if we get the business done early it will be an advantage going into the qualifiers which will be here before we know it.
"The fact we are linked with loads of players is no surprise, we hope to get our targets in for pre-season."
