Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew II said he wanted to start fast this week against the Tennessee Titans, and he’s doing just that. Just three drives into the Jags’ “Thursday Night Football” battle against their longtime rivals, Minshew is already 5-of-6 for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Minshew wasn’t able to score on his first drive, but took advantage of the short field after cornerback Adoree’ Jackson muffed a punt on the Titans’ own 7-yard line. On the exact next play, Minshew came in and threw a beautiful touchdown pass to tight end James O’Shaughnessy.
On the next drive, Minshew drove the Jags down the field through a six play 62-yard drive. He hit receiver Dede Westbrook multiple times on the drive and was eventually able to go deep to his favorite target, D.J. Chark, for a beautiful 22-yard touchdown. Asa result, the Jags went up 14-0.
People already came into Thursday’s game looking to find out the hype surrounding the “Mustached Wonder” and he’s giving them a show.
Buckle up, Minshew Mania is about to gain some more steam folks.
